Many students choose Farelcollege because of the positive atmosphere. We are an active, friendly school with extras such as bilingual education, internationalization, sports and culture, and a wide range of activities. This ensures that all staff and students are highly engaged. At this school, everyone is welcome, no matter your background.

Help, those older students are so tall! At Farel College, you don’t have to feel like a tiny first-year student. We have a special lower school building for mavo, havo, and vwo. Are you doing basis or kader? Then you’ll mostly have classes on the first and second floors of the vmbo building. That means you’ll be together with all the other newcomers.

In the first year, you will join a ‘dakpanklas’, which always combines two levels. These are: basic-vocational, vocational-mavo, mavo-havo, havo-vwo, bilingual havo-vwo, or Dutch-language vwo-bilingual vwo. This way, you have more time to discover which level suits you best. Because we offer all levels, it’s easy to move up or switch tracks. For example, you can move from vocational to mavo, or from havo to vwo. If you find the level too challenging, you can also take a step back and still stay at our school.

It’s about your school years and your future. That’s why you have a big say in how you spend your time here at school. In growth meetings (three times a year with your mentor and parent/guardian), you indicate what your goals are.

During talent hours, you get the chance to further develop your talent. We have a football class, a sports class, the studio (design, art, and film), and the music class. Do you already see something you like?

How is your schedule organized? Do you have everything with you? Is the homework clear? To help you with these kinds of questions, we have the day start. Every day you begin at 8:45 a.m. and go through everything with your mentor, so you can start your school day well. You will also receive a planning agenda and we will ‘teach you how to learn’. Properly planning your homework is part of this.

In addition, we have customization hours. During these hours, there is room for your own choices. What do you need? Some extra explanation about a subject, or perhaps more in-depth study? Looking for more of a challenge or do you want to do your homework during school hours? A lot is possible during the customization hours.
