Hello,

VMBO

Farel 1088

You are someone, you are capable, and you matter

At VMBO, you don't just work from books, but mainly by doing and experiencing. Of course, you have subjects like Dutch, English, and mathematics. But you also get hands-on experience with cooking, technology, sports, art, and music.

Starting together = a great start!

We start every day at 8:45 AM with the day start. Together with your mentor and classmates, you check if you have everything you need, go over the schedule, and discuss important matters. There is also attention for a short theme or conversation. This way, you begin your school day calmly and well-prepared.

Homework-free

Most of your schoolwork is done during lessons. That way, there is always a teacher or classmate nearby to help you. This reduces stress and gives you more time at home for other things.

Plan agenda

Every student in pre-vocational secondary education receives a planner. In it, you write down homework, appointments, and goals. This way, you learn to plan step by step and keep an overview.

What suits you?

Discover your profile

In the lower years, you discover what you are good at through LOB lessons (Career Orientation and Guidance). You will get to know three fields:

  • Care & Welfare:
caring for people, cooking, and organizing activities.
  • Economy & Entrepreneurship:
selling products, planning, and running a business.
  • Services & Products:
working creatively with cooking, presenting, and creating projects.

This way, you will know which field suits you best in the upper years.

Always guidance

At VMBO, you are never on your own. Your mentor is there for you and your parents. We also offer a wide range of extra support throughout the school, such as the homework class, guidance from the dyslexia coach, support from the anti-bullying coordinator and support coordinator, school social work, and other forms of guidance.

We also offer learning pathway support (LWOO): smaller groups, more attention, and lessons at your own pace. (An official LWOO statement is required for this).

Progression = growth
With us, you have the space to move forward at your own pace. Sometimes that means taking a step up – for example, from basic to kader, or from kader to mavo. You don’t have to change schools: you simply stay at Farel.
