Sick, absent and leave

Reporting a Child Sick

Of course, it can happen that you become ill. As a school, we would like to be informed in time. If you are unable to come to school due to illness, your parents must report this to the attendance coordinator or the reception between 07:45 and 10:00 on the first day of illness.

This can be done by calling 0180 411 777.

We kindly ask you to call daily so that we are kept informed. Is this not possible? Then make arrangements with the attendance coordinator.

Reporting Sick During the School Day

Students must report to the reception desk and will receive a sickness notification slip. After this, the student must report to the student coordinator, or if they are absent, to the mentor or department head. Is it a first-year student? Then the receptionist will first call home to inform that the student is going home sick. For students from year 2 onwards, parents are expected to call the school once the student has arrived home.

Is the student better again? Then he/she must hand in the completed and parent-signed sickness notification slip at the reception desk on the first school day after recovery.

Reporting Recovery

Parents/guardians report their son or daughter’s recovery by phone at 0180 411 777. Alternatively, the student can report their own recovery to the administration.

Additional Leave

Leave of absence must be requested in writing in advance from the department head. The administration has a special leave form available for this purpose. The principal formally grants the final approval. Leave of absence related to holidays must be requested one month in advance. If parents/guardians have not requested leave from school attendance or if it has not been granted, the absence will be considered unauthorized school absence. In the case of unauthorized absence, the attendance officer is authorized to draw up an official report.

More information about the absence policy can be found in the protocol. It contains information about authorized absence, unauthorized absence, and tardiness.

These absence protocols are in line with the legal regulations regarding compulsory education, leave, and absence.
