Bilingual education
Do you dream of an international career in the future? Or do you simply think it would be fun (and useful for later) to take most of your classes in English? Then you can choose bilingual education (TTO). At both havo and vwo levels, you can follow bilingual education. The bilingual atheneum/havo at Portus Farelcollege is a certified junior TTO program.
Subjects such as mathematics, geography, biology, and physical education are taught in English. You are also prepared for working abroad or at an international company. You can be sure that you will learn English at a high level, because we follow the Cambridge English program. Tell your parents about that!
If you choose bilingual education, you will go to England with your class every year. There are also exchange projects available for you. You can swap lives for a while with a student from, for example, Finland or England. You will also get in touch with children from other countries in other ways, such as through an email project or video conference.
Supplementary school fees for atheneum/havo with bilingual education (TTO)
The bilingual atheneum or havo program involves a number of non-subsidized costs, about which parents/guardians and students have been informed in advance. A contribution of €450 per student is requested to cover these costs. This contribution is used for additional teaching materials, international activities (such as excursions to England), extra language certificates, and membership of Nuffic.
